About Byxgyt

An editorial approach
to policy clarity.

Byxgyt offers policy document and plain language editing, with contact in Toronto.

Read from the task outward

A reader often arrives with a practical question: what must I do, when does a rule apply, and who makes the decision? Clear structure gives those questions a visible place in the document.

We edit headings, order and language with that task in mind. Consistent terms help the reader connect a definition with the procedures that use it.

Ask before changing the meaning

Simple wording must still express the policy accurately. Duties, permissions, conditions and exceptions are treated as part of the meaning that needs to be retained.

If the current wording leaves a responsibility or rule uncertain, a clarification question goes to the policy owner. The final document is reviewed and approved by your organization.

The handoff

An edit you
can review,
then approve.

  • Marked edits and clean copy

  • Clarification questions

Unresolved meaning, terms and responsibilities are gathered for the policy owner to answer.

  • Working terminology list

Included in Policy set edit and Consistency edit, using the terms and definitions supplied or confirmed by your organization.

  • Cross-document notes

Included in Consistency edit, identifying differences and references that require a decision across the agreed set.

Tell us which documents are current, who reads them and which passages cause difficulty. We agree the editing scope and review process before work begins.
